Mohinder knew that Peter would heal, but that didn't stop him from running alongside the gurney as he was put back inside his 'safe room.'  Mohinder's hands were bloody, the gore stretching up to his elbows.  He was just trying to hold Peter together, to save him...

Even if he had shot at him first.

"I'm so sorry," he kept saying, having no idea when Peter would wake.

Peter didn't say anything else, the air quiet and hot between them. Almost painfully so,

Instead, after a minute, he extended his arm and held out his hand to Mohinder, wanting contact. He was worried about why Mohinder hadn't come over to kiss him yet.

Oh, probably because they were being watched? Because a slip up would cause a little girl her freedom? Mohinder couldn't give into urges like this. "No here," he whispered, looking away from that hand. "You ought to eat." He couldn't trust Peter just to hold his hand. He could trust himself.

"I'm not hungry," he repeated, wriggling his fingers. "They won't kill you for holding my hand, Mohinder. Please? I'm cold." His eyes were big and puppyized to the max.

Ah, damn it. Mohinder had never wanted to be a father. He never kept relationships up. But since having Molly in his life, he had nothing but a distinctly annoying parental side to him now. There was little he could actually do about it, and when Peter turned those eyes on him, he crossed the room to take his hand.

He smiled gently. "I don't want to get you into trouble. No more kissing, if you don't want to, okay? Just...please don't be afraid to touch me like this. It makes me feel like even more of an alien." Peter didn't turn they eyes off. His emotions bled through his expressions too easily.

Mohinder shook his head. "But you are probably an alien," he joked, pressing his forehead against Peter's. So much for keeping a respectable distance!

"Take me to your leader, Peaches," he joked. Peter pushed forward, closing his eyes. "So did I get you in trouble or what? Because if not, my lips are kind of hurting. Think you could check them out, doc?"

"A bit of trouble," Mohinder said, not lying. "We can't do this, Peter." He rested his fingers against the other man's throat for a moment. "When we're out of here...we can review this, perhaps, but please, you need to understand...this is my life."

He nodded, pulling his head away. "Okay. I like you enough to respect that. So...when we get out of here we'll figure it out." Peter bit into his lip and then asked, "Can I give you one last kiss? On the cheek, if I have to. I just want to feel your skin on my lips again."

Mohinder was sure that Peter was going to be the death of him, but he complied, a simple kiss to the cheek. He needed to finish up some work before anyone caught onto this. Bennet was no longer here to protect him.

"Thanks." He grinned a droopy smile and stepped back, sitting on his bed, eyes never leaving Mohinder. "Anything else we need to take care of today?"
