"And the way I can feel you...its...I never want to lose that."
Mohinder wakes with a start and stares up at the ceiling. Those weird dreams again. They need to stop. They're starting to affect his ability to do his job. Well, not that he'd slept much these five years since Sylar blew up. The alarm goes off a moment later and he pulls himself to his feet.
Another day in the lab. Another report due. A meeting with the president that afternoon? He'd have to check his schedule.
He's in the shower when he gets the call. That meeting with the president? Moved up to a breakfast briefing. Mohinder groans and slips on a silver and lapis lazuli ring before he heads down to the waiting limo.

Date: 2011-12-26 01:06 am (UTC)He decides to do just that when it's his turn to feed on him and reaches up, tapping the side of his head. "Telepathy's good for more than just reading minds. If I tell him he can't teleport, then he won't be able to."
He doesn't doubt his ability to get into Nakamura's head. Even if he's built up his mental walls over the last few years to protect against intrusion, between the mental prowess afforded to him simply for being what he is and the potency of Matt's blood, it shouldn't be an issue.

Date: 2011-12-26 02:48 am (UTC)Hiro's sudden fear when the man beside the professor ends up being Sylar is sweet. Yes, Mohinder wants him. His fangs have already extended and it makes him shiver to even think about sharing another special with Sylar.
The pounce happens much too quickly. He allows the younger vampire to go first. He'll need the blood more and Mohinder's never been too keen on feeding off of fear. Even vampires can have morals.

Date: 2011-12-26 02:19 pm (UTC)Whimpering, he forces himself to pull away before he's taken too much, wanting to save some for Mohinder, but before he does, before his lips leave Hiro's throat, he reaches into him mentally, wraps his fingers around the other man's power, and tears it out viciously. Nakamura doesn't even scream. He can't. Between the lingering agony of Sylar feeding on him and having his ability forcibly removed, his breath as well as the capacity to cry out have been stolen from him.
Sylar steps back, grinning and traces his tongue over his lips. He catches Mohinder's eyes and nods to Hiro. His turn.

Date: 2011-12-26 03:19 pm (UTC)He wipes his mouth off and looks up at Sylar with a satisfied grin.
"Well, Mr. President-- What is it we're going to do? Stay here? We should go to England. Maybe we can track John or his family down. We need another piece of lapis lazuli."

Date: 2011-12-26 03:43 pm (UTC)It's probably for the best that he feels that way, too. Without Mohinder, half of DC would likely end up missing or dead within a few days.
"We'll have to wait a few days," Sylar says finally. "My staff hasn't seen Nathan in a couple of days already. A few more might make them suspicious. They need to see me. And they need to be assured that I'm still me and not someone pretending to be me. Or that there's not someone pulling my strings."
He and Parkman can stage a debriefing with the Haitian present. He'll make sure the latter doesn't use his ability to accidentally out him and Matt can fill out paperwork afterwards to make it look official. After that, it shouldn't be hard to fake some intel on something in London the President wants to look into personally or some foreign dignitary he's supposed to meet to give him a reason to be in London. From there, they can take a night flight to Heathrow, as unpleasant as that will likely be for the both of them, and he'll make a couple of public appearances as Nathan once they're there, just to sell the show. It's complicated, sure, but it's better than one or both of them ending up flayed alive on some government scientist's table.
He fails to consider the fact that Mohinder is still a wanted man and, by this point, likely on the no-fly list if nothing else.

Date: 2011-12-26 05:13 pm (UTC)In fact, Matt's phone call closer to dawn just makes Mohinder laugh. Maybe it's evil. He can't help it. "Oh tell him to come over. He sounds about ready to have a coronary."

Date: 2011-12-26 05:20 pm (UTC)But when he gets up, he wants breakfast close, and besides, he and Matt have business to discuss beyond that. Which, speaking of, "Oh, and send someone to pick up Nakamura on your way over. We left him near the labs."
no subject
Date: 2011-12-26 05:29 pm (UTC)Damn.
"Yeah, all right, I'll get the team together, take care of Nakamura and then I'll be over."
He hangs up before Mohinder speaks again. The Indian grins. "He's so loyal. How did that happen?"
no subject
Date: 2011-12-26 05:54 pm (UTC)Hanging up, he tosses the phone onto the bed and stretches out in his seat. He drops his head on the back of it and glances back at Mohinder, his world and the Indian along with it upside down.
"Before the blood? I took care of him for three years. I trusted him with the truth. About everything." Not only just who he was. In the last few years, he's come to Matt with just about everything. His hopes, his fears, his wants. He's been as close to a best friend as he's ever had in this universe or any other. It's been nice. It still is, even if he thinks it's vaguely odd, seeing as how, until they ended up here, he hated Matt. He hopes they can keep that closeness, with or without blood entering into the equation. "I spent the last five years trying to do the right thing and I let him help. To serve. To protect. All of that counts for a lot for him."

Date: 2011-12-26 06:23 pm (UTC)"I'm proud of you, Gabriel. Well, not the attempted genocide, but I do understand the reasoning for it. You really did have what could be the best possible outcome for the most people. Hard choice, that one. I could never have done it."
He slips around the sofa and climbs into Sylar's lap. He gently noses his ear and then nuzzles against his throat.
"Oh! Airforce One! We get to take your jet! We could even go during the day. Black out the windows. We've a pet to care for us."
no subject
Date: 2011-12-26 06:39 pm (UTC)But he won't have to worry about getting Mohinder through security and on a commercial jet. He can just make him invisible until they're up in the air.

Date: 2011-12-26 07:00 pm (UTC)Mohinder's finger gently slip through his hair at the temples. He kisses him very lightly and snuggles in against his chest.

Date: 2011-12-26 07:31 pm (UTC)"You get him?" he asks after a moment. Matt looks tired. Maybe he'll invite him to join him and Mohinder when they bed down for the day.

Date: 2011-12-27 01:39 am (UTC)Matt shrugs and waits for-- What? Dismissal? Hard to tell. He's just got these really terrible feelings of inadequacy with these two.
no subject
Date: 2011-12-27 02:26 am (UTC)"He doesn't. I pulled them out of him when we ran into him earlier." Not that he needed to, of course -- he already had Hiro's power, it's what got them into this mess in the first place -- but it was the principle of the thing. After all the terrible things he's done over the years, he's no longer deserving of his ability.

Date: 2011-12-27 10:22 am (UTC)"I guess that's good then? No powers, no escape. He killed a lot of people so--"

Date: 2011-12-27 02:25 pm (UTC)He rolls one shoulder in a shrug, careful not to dislodge Mohinder from the other one, and turns his attentions to him, trying to feel how he's feeling. He hasn't said much, after all, and he's vaguely worried he might be jealous when he has no right to be. His world revolves around him, always has, not Matt, as much as he enjoys the other man's company.
no subject
Date: 2011-12-27 02:58 pm (UTC)Still, he understands his place. He knows that Mohinder and Sylar are together. He doesn't even begrudge them this.
"Smart. Tomorrow I'll have him interogated."

Date: 2011-12-27 03:54 pm (UTC)That thought is crushing. It truely is.
"Even if he doesn't, he might be able to help us."
Slowly, Matt nods. He only vaguely understands, but it's important. "I'll get it done."

Date: 2011-12-27 04:08 pm (UTC)"Dawn's coming." Just a few more minutes now, the faint light of pre-dawn already greying the sky outside. That likely explains everything.

Date: 2011-12-27 08:15 pm (UTC)He gets to his feet now, however, and drifts over to the bed. He sinks down on it, rolls onto his stomach and looks at the both of the expectantly, lowering his head again only once they've both made it onto the mattress with them.
