He's nervous, sitting in the car for almost half an hour..  The man on the phone had been the only one, so far, that would talk to him.  Well, besides Nathan Petrelli's brother, of course.  Not that the boy had anything to really go on.  Zane Taylor might very well be the key that he needs to find so that his research makes sense again.  So that he can carry on with his father's work.

Pulling up his jacket, though it's not really that cold at all in Virginia, Mohinder raps lightly on the door and waits.  He can hear movement in there and it causes him to rock forward on his toes, teeth indenting the inside of his lower lip.

Sylar stares back, innocently. He knows what was said, of course, and he's vaguely irritated that Dale of all people managed to see his hurt, but he can't let any of that show. He has to pretend he has no idea what's going on. "What did she say?"

Mohinder takes the easy way out. "I'm not quite sure," he says, which is not at all a lie. He happens to give a very soft, sure smile and puts the car in reverse. "Something to do with her ability. I don't much understand it. Now here's the real question: What are we meant to do for the rest of the day? Anything in particular Montana's known for?"

"Skiing, I guess," he supplies, shrugging. "But I never had the chance to learn how to ski. Virginia Beach isn't exactly surrounded by mountains." Neither is Manhattan, so it's true enough.

Mohinder wets his lips and pulls out from the drive and onto the main road again to take them back towards their hotel. "I can assure you that there's really very little snow anywhere near where I grew up. And skiing was not a priority while at University."

There's a bit of silence before Mohinder looks thoughtfully at Zane. "Perhaps we can take in a film?"

"I wouldn't say no to that." Not that he knows what's playing, but it's better than sitting around at the motel all day. It doesn't occur to him that this is the closest thing to a legitimate date he and Mohinder have ever had.

Mohinder's not really thinking 'date' either. Zane's shy and good looking but that hardly means he's interested. Likely, he just has exceedingly poor social skills. Men that wear band t-shirts aren't known for their leanings towards other men. Or maybe they are? Mohinder's no expert.

They find a theatre not too far away. It's tiny, just four screens. "Romantic comedy, action film, thriller, kid's film." Oh, great choices!

"Anything but the kid's movie," he answers. He's not entirely keen on the idea of being forced to sit through a romantic comedy, either, but he's afraid that shooting that one down might give Mohinder the wrong signals. The Indian is, after all, the master of miscommunication if his last trip through time proves anything, and he can't help but wonder bitterly if that Mohinder is happy without him.

Ah, Sylar. If only he knew how heartbroken he'd left the man. Maybe he wouldn't be with this current Mohinder at all if that was the case!

"Perhaps...action then?" he's not sure if he can really manage something akin to horror. The less death, the better.

"Sounds good." If it were his choice, he'd have picked the horror movie, but he can understand Mohinder's reluctance to submit himself to that sort of thing. Regardless, though, he offers him a smile and heads up to the counter to pay for their tickets.

The movie is standard fare -- lots of explosions and car chases -- but it's not bad, and really, even if it had been, he likely still would have enjoyed it. It's been a long time since he's had the time or inclination to go see a movie in theatres, most of his cinematic experiences limited to whatever's on HBO at some insane hour of the morning, before or after a murder.

Mohinder's far more interested in the popcorn. He does very odd things with it, picking up each piece to be sure of it's colour before he pops it into his mouth without chewing. It simply melts on his tongue and his smiles absently each time he does it. The movie itself is not really all that interesting. Explosions, car chases, the guy gets the very one-sided girl-- Not his thing.

"What was with the popcorn?" he asks, once they're back outside. He divided half his time watching the movie and watching him, obviously, and he can't recall his Mohinder ever doing that. Then again, they never really had time for popcorn.

Mohinder glances upwards, hands in his pockets. He has gloves on, but he's really not use to this cold and oh, it's so very cold. "I...what?" He's really rather innocent of the whole thing. "It simply lasts longer that way."

"It was kind of ... " Adorable, but he doesn't mention that. It seems far too forward for Zane and it's certainly too mushy for him. Even if Mohinder knew who he really was, he wouldn't have finished that sentence, letting him fill in the blank himself with the tiny smile he gives him after he trails off.

Disgusting, is where Mohinder's mind goes. He is constantly getting himself caught up in his own insecurities. He lowers his eyelids. "I apologize. I must say that I've never seen anyone put that much into their mouth at once though!" Perhaps he at least knows how to make light of such situations though!

"That's -- that's not where I was going with that, Mohinder," he mumbles, making a face at him both for his amazing ability to assume the worst and at the comment. "And it's not my fault the popcorn was good."

"Yes, quite good. I've never really indulged before. I've never had much time, honestly, to spare to seeing films."

He has to squint as his eyes adjust to the sun from the dark and he sits in the car with it idling for a few long moments, turned towards Zane with an interested, somewhat tempting smile.

"Though sometimes 'good' things should be savoured."

He peeks into his thoughts to see if that's an invitation or if he's just reading to much into things, and turns to face him, raising his eyebrows slowly. If Mohinder doesn't make the first move, and his thoughts are in the right place, he'll make it for them. "Yeah, they should be."

Oh, Mohinder's thoughts are in the right place. He's never met Matt Parkman or Molly Walker here. He hasn't slept with anyone in awhile. A small romantic attachment to Eden, a string of female lovers --

But Mohinder's put the car into gear and is heading back to the motel with it's odd, old fashioned keys.

He stops Mohinder from getting out of the car when they reach the motel, one hand falling heavily on his shoulder. He watches him for a moment as he turns back to face him, mutely and surprisingly shyly given all the times he's been intimate with him in the past, more of Gabriel bleeding into the Zane persona, then slides a hand up into his hair. He leans to kiss him tentatively, half expecting to be pushed away, even if the desire is there, for all the luck he's had with different versions of Mohinder thus far.

He closes his eyes for the kiss, standing slightly on his toes before he even realizes it. It's a very strange thing, to have Zane kiss him, but the vibe running through his mind is positive and excited. Mohinder lays a hand on Zane's chest and looks up at him. "This isn't entirely professional or ethical," he says, though the smile says far more.

"Probably not, but ... " He shrugs lightly, helplessly, and leans into his fingers, his own spidering absently in and out of the Indian's curls. If he only knew how unprofessional this was, that he'd just kissed his father's murderer.

Mohinder's fingers lightly press upwards until his thumb moves against Zane's throat and his fingers rest towards his ear. A car zooms by and Mohinder glances over Zane's shoulder. "But, the parking lot may not be the most appropriate place to continue this conversation."

"Probably not," he repeats, pulling away from Mohinder slowly and reluctantly.

He lets his fingers trace down his arm, lacing his with Mohinder's when they reach his hand and tugs him towards the motel. Towards Mohinder's room, to be specific, since there are plants nested in the walls of his at the moment and he has no way of explaining them. He doesn't want this moment ruined by the truth. He'll tell him eventually, of course, but not now.

He's been getting this vibe from Zane since they met, so really, this isn't a big stretch at all for Mohinder. He's always been a little too impulsive, a little too thoughtless when it comes to what moves he really ought to make.

And right now, being leaned back against his door, while certainly not the right move, doesn't actually feel so bad either. It's a little dangerous, too, which nearly has his toes curling as he touches his hair, the back of his scalp again. How does he know he enjoys being touched there?

It could almost be a lucky guess if not for the fact that he seems to know all the right places to touch him. Logically, he knows it's not a good idea to show off his knowledge of the Indian's body, that he should at least make a show of pretending to know what he likes, but logic is hard to stick to in the heat of the moment, and he wants to make it good for Mohinder, as always. His Mohinder would have accepted nothing less, after all, and if Mohinder questions it later, he can just write it off. He's been meaning to find a way to slip in the fact that he's an empath, and this may be the perfect opportunity -- particularly if he tells him he could just somehow hear the changes in his heartbeat when he touched the right place. It's not a lie.
