He loses track of time easily. It's been weeks since he's seen Elijah, since witnessing Sylar's death, since getting back in touch with Maya and convincing her to let him have a sample of her blood. He's been feverishly at work in a lab no longer monitored by the Company: the old artist's loft he went to on the day he met Peter Petrelli. The painting of the end of the world is still etched into the floor he walks on. He doesn't notice any more.
Mohinder hasn't been home to Brooklyn in days. He's hardly been eating, so wrapped up in his research that he passes out on his stool and has woken up with a headache after tipping over on more than one occasion. He doesn't mind.
He's finally gotten close. Very, very close to the answers he's been seeking. Technically, this doesn't help Maya at all. He's not found a way to remove her power but it should, in theory, give a non-evolved human an ability. He's short on guinea pigs however. There's no one here but himself. But what is progress without risks? Mohinder's not sure what to do. If he has a reaction, if he is given an unstable power, there is no one here to stop him. But if he doesn't press forward, he could be throwing away the key to the salvation of mankind.
He stares at the syringe for a long time... And then rolls up his sleeve.
