Sylar stares at him as if he's just been punched in the gut. Why? Why would Mohinder do that? Even with people living who shouldn't or him not being around, that shouldn't be enough to push him to that. If anything, he should be happier, his life and the world around him less ruined by all the terrible things he did or would have done or whatever.
